Through our PE curriculum we develop children’s skills and lead them towards playing the following sports: football, netball, rugby, hockey, end ball, cricket, rounders, cross country, athletics. School teams are developed outside of the teaching time allocated for PE.
Each class will have one indoor session per week for educational gymnastics and dance, and an outdoor session for games skills. Danesfield regularly participates in inter-school
competition with a high degree of success. Sport is seen as a valuable outlet for children’ energy and enthusiasm.
Children are encouraged through PE to lead a healthy life and we actively promote physical activity as a means of achieving this. We consider it important that all children have the opportunity to develop their sport skills and participate in team activities be they house teams or school teams.
Teachers are encouraged to bring their own sporting experiences into school to benefit the development of children’s skills and attitudes.
Sportmanship is seen as an important ingredient in children’s education.
