The Arts are actively promoted at Danesfield both in and out of school time. Art programmes of study offers children a wide range of experiences using different materials and techniques.

Music lessons cover composition, singing, appreciation and playing of instruments. The peripatetic provision in school is excellent with a wide variety of instruments being on offer. An orchestra and choir operate weekly and music concerts, which include soloists, are performed for parents. Music is seen as a valuable means of enhancing learning and as such we encourage children to be involved as much as possible.

Drama is experienced within the classroom and also when school productions are staged for parents. Children have many opportunities to perform in front of an audience and gain confidence from the experience.

Added to the above children have cultural experiences and opportunities by visiting theatres, concerts, museums and galleries. Local visits are also arranged to enable children to appreciate their immediate environment and the architecture it contains. Within school, visitors such as artists, authors, theatre groups and musicians regularly come to talk to or perform for the children.
